Community Building
Jared Hochberg has a passion for bringing people together by hosting events and curating experiences. He began organizing in 2nd grade, forming a wood chip army at recess. While some kids sharpened wood chips, others would be on look out for teachers patrolling the schoolyard.
Since then, he has focused on connecting people through art and education. He is passionate about building communities where participants can ask questions, think deeply, and explore their imaginations. Checkout some of the highlighted events below.
Art Night
The largest and most comprehensive organizing effort I have ever done. ArtNight began in 2017 and is an organization I started when I was 21. I lead a team of 6 to organize over 100 events, with thousands of unique participants. During the COVID lockdown, online events had over 80 people in attendance. Other Communities
Jared Hochberg has created numerous events in the past that have allowed different groups of people to connect and learn.
Music & Meditation
This group met for 30 weeks, with a regular group of 20 and a waitlist each week. A music discussion group facilitated by meditation teacher. Notable guests include trombonist Robin Eubanks.
Lorenzo's Jazz Night
Monthly Jam session at a local pizzeria that I ran in the town of Oberlin. Occurred every month for 4 years. Regular crowd of 40+ people at each event all through word of mouth. Paul Simon's drummer, Jamey Haddad was a regular guest as well as other notables. Read the article about the jam night.
Feminist Book Club
Book group that met twice a month for 4 months to analyze media and texts from a feminist lens. Subjects of study included bell hooks works and essays by Carmen Maria Machado, as well as analysis of contemporary media and pornography.
Black & Jewish Mixer
